Changing your body composition, ie loosing weight, is a matter of maintaining a balance between the energy you intake, and the energy you expend. Raw food eliminates a lot of energy dense foods from your diet, until you're stuck with just fruit, some seeds/nuts, and the vegetables which you can eat raw (nobody wants to chow down on a raw spud). With the exception of the seeds and nuts, the foods you'd be left with don't provide you with a whole lot of energy, compared to their mass.
